I'm enjoying riding the SR too much to want to change it drastically from where it's at right now and I've just sold the R1, so that means I have no more excuses for letting the CBX250 continue to sit in my garage.
Ok. It's not an SR (and even worse; it's not a Yamaha!) but I'm posting this up as it's easier to stay motivated when you're sharing your progress with others, so I hope you all don't mind
I aquired this a while back for free. It ran but was far from road worthy and the owner thought I might like it to muck around on instead of him taking it to the tip.
So far I've managed to replace the battery, sparkplug, oil, oil filter, front pads, mirrors (GS500 items) and front brake line (braided, no less) as well as overhauling the carb and front brake caliper. . . all this and the bike still only owes me about $55. I've been lucky and managed to source a fair bit of free stuff for this one.
I have to give it a final once over this weekend and make sure I've found everything that I'd need to do and make a final decision on whether it's financially viable to continue (the aim is soley to fix, register and sell like I did with the VT500E), but I know it needs choke cable, fork inners, exhaust, front brake rotor and of course tyres and chain and sprockets.
From what I've priced up so far it's looking like it's going to be a goer. I'm going on the target that as long as it costs me less than a grand all done and registered, I'll go ahead with it.
As it was when I got it:
The Suzuki mirrors fit perfectly and blend well with the style of the bike:
