Went out to the shop and started digging around to see what might work, what will work, and what doesnt. Learned some new tricks and before I knew it the SR500 has totally changed character again. This looks like the way this one is going to finally evolve before tearing it down for paint. Still have some details to work out but very happy with the way it is going. Not quite happy with the temporary swingarm but already have something in the works. Just need to try a few more things before comiting to the rear. Have 3 different sets of shocks for the rear and these are only for mock up. Lets see 2 different sets of forks, third set of triple trees, 2nd set of wheels, no idea how many different handlebars, 2nd tank, still need to figure out the exhaust. Also have some welding to finish and a few more tweeks to the frame. A lot of the welding is going to depend on what swinarm I end up using. Really like the tough look with the new wheels and front end. Now I need to get it done before summer. Bill new.photos.yahoo.com/billalb111/photo/294928804248336458/0

FJ1100 Trees, forks and clip on handlebars. Darn near bolt on with some very minor mods. FJ1200 wheels and tires, CR swingarm but I am looking at a 700 Fazer swingarm due to the width of the rear tire (150). Should also pull the rear wheel in about 3-4 inches.
Trying to build the bike out of spare stuff I have kicking around the shop and garage.
Kinda hard to see but FJ1200 rear brake lever and passenger pegs in place of the heavy stockers. The right side flips up to use the kickstarter and has plenty of clearance. Hardest part about this project has been making up my mind what the final build should be.

Hi Bill, Your bike should look great when it's done...nice Falcons as well...I'd personally love an XA 4 door GT...red ;D I am tossing ideas around in my head on swing arms for mine at the moment...about an inch longer than stock is where I'm thinking of going at the moment. But what it should look like I am not decided on yet. Shocker length is also another thing for me to sort at the moment...'course that brings chain tension problems with it as well. SR

The only Falcon thats mine is the orange XB. Gets a lot of looks over here due to the right hand drive. Best theft deterent is the 4sp as nobody wants to even try it. The other ones are Aussie friends of mine who have their Falcons here.
As for the swingarms I found long ago that finding the right one to mount is the hard part, shock mounts can always be moved to compensate for the shock length. I am figuring out getting the same angle as stock for the swingarm for the chain angles. Dont mind if its a bit longer though.
I like the front end on my bike now as the forks are a bit soft on the FJ1200 but seem fine on the SR. Plus they are fully adjustable for fine tuning.
