Hi, Not sure that it's stiffer...but it is lighter... SR

I'm sure I read somewhere that the SR frame is made of heavier guage tubing. One thing is certain however, and that is that the swingarm pivot area on the SR item is a lot beefier than the same area on the TT/XT. I'm no expert but I would have thought stiffness here is a critical point with regard to predictable handling.

Just to add to the above.....you could always get the welding torch out and add gussets to strengthen the XT/TTs weak points, and then you'd have the best of both worlds.

Not trying to hijack this thread or anyting but, I've got an RZ rolling frame with gastank, that I was kicking around some idea on what to do with it. I've thought about everything (after I priced the RZ, Banshee, 350LC and RD400 motor) from putting the front and rear suspension (w/wheels) on a CB350F, a CB400f and now, maybe an 81' SR500 that I have. Decisions, decisions. Gary, hope you find what your looking for, Myself, I wish I could find a suitable motor to put in my RZ frame but, as it is, I'll probably put the front and rear ends on something, question is, which one? Later on, Bill

Hi, I recall there was an RZ350 rolling chasis getting around Adelaide with an SR engine in it...that was a long time ago now...maybe 12 years ago. It appeared to be registered... It seemed to go OK as I recall, but looked a little unusual with the narrow engine in it... SR
