Hey Akira,
I have been talking to some people here at Action Motorcycles in Canberra and they tell me that the owner of the Action Group, Rod Hunwick, may be going to open an SR only emporium in Sydney. Rod has about 4 or 5 big shops here in Aus...selling new Japanese bikes and KTM's...
From what they say he'll be bringing in Japanese aftermarket bits and possibly complete bikes.
Maybe he was the Australian who's been going around the aftermarket guys there in Japan.
Might be a good thing to have that stuff over here as well.
I really like making my own SR stuff though, so I guess we'll see.

I hope he will succeed, i find it quit difficult to do bussiness with the various japanese aftermarket suppliers .

Sjef, Yes, so do I...still he's got lots of money so if anyone can I guess he can.
I'd like to bring in SR 500's here. Secondhand nice ones ...I reckon you could sell them over time.
They're still a nice bike.

SR
another problem is that SR-riders don`t want to spend as much money on their bikes as harley-riders tend to do.

Sorry for late response,
I've heard from the owner of the shop OMC that someone from Australia planning to bring new SR400 there from Japan. He might be Rod, I guess... So you Aussies will be able to have some Japanese aftermarket parts also.

No problems, Akira..
Hmmm, that means that I might be going to buy a new bike in a while...
Never have enough SR's....pity about that pollution line going to the head, still you can soon remove that and blank it off.....
How many SR's have you got Akira?

More info...
Apparently there are some SR400's currently undergoing ADR (design reg.) compliance in Aus. These have been brought in by Rod...(...never met the guy myself...).
Rod is in partnership with another person, and they are going to bring new SR400's in to Aus. and will sell Japanese aftermarket bits as well. Not only for the SR I understand.
The shop will be in Camperdown in Sydney...not too far from Canberra....might be taking a trip to Sydney soon I feel....
I wonder how SR400's go in comparison to 500's???

why would you put a 500 crank in a 400? ,is the SR400 destroked?, shorter than the 500,would have thought the bore was smaller?,if the 500 crank increases the stroke in the 400 motor which rod would you use?,does someone know??,cheers Mick

SR another problem is that SR-riders don`t want to spend as much money on their bikes as harley-riders tend to do. regards sjef Well, I'll tell you this much - as an owner of both types of bikes, I find the costs to be pretty equal for the important stuff, but nobody beats Harley for expensive fluff and chrome!
