I was at the Post Classic Racing Association of NSW race meet yesterday at Eastern Creek. Didn't see any of the SR race boys. But did see this XT win it's class in the Show and shine..

Drooling mate, good looking bikes. The XT is disturbingly clean.
That's the same muffler I've got on my SR, and it's comforting to see It's not just my mid pipe that is almost rusted the whole way through?

Future, We were all in pit bay 33. Yes the XT was nice but brought in on a trailer with the PE next to it. Has never been ridden, a waste in my mind. For my money the Ducati RT450 next to it was better! This coming from the owner of 2 XT's, what am I thinking. Curly

Careful what you say about trailering bikes to show and shines. Questioning the validity of such practices nearly got me in trouble at the TT/XT Muster Mick

I'll leave the race report up to Rick & Greg. But I won the start the SR contest, my knee will never be the same. Rick, Greg Hurry up with those rollers. As for trailing bikes to shows thats fine if you ride them normally but to build a bike just to show, WASTE!!!!! Curly

I sadly didn't make it. I had a work commitment involving 9hrs complimentary on the company card on Saturday night, passing through an Oktoberfest.
So I'll blame the germans, seeing as my bmw coil has shat itself, leaving me strandard aswell. Apologies for being so weak.
Did you solve your fuelling issues Rick?

See under the Eastern Creek post for a brief race report. Not happy chappies really, with lots of drama on and off track!
Milkman, thanks for dismantling your CDI and offering it, the fuelling problems were numerous but a blocked pilot circuit (not the jet itself) and a dodgy check valve on the fuel tank are the most likely culprits.
Thanks to Curly, a lot of problems were solved, kickstarting, bump starting, blocked carbies, broken engine bolts, dodgy catch tank arrangements, the list goes on a fair bit! Oh the joys of racing a chronologically challenged motorcycle ;D

Well, it can have 2 meanings! SLOW or OLD or both! Do you ever get out to the track there Lurch? I am an ex-Pom before I defected to the warmer climes and used to splash around the UK race tracks in the late 80s and early 90s. Mallory Park was my local test track on a Wednesday afternoon, close to my then home in Cheltenham. Oulton Park was where my racing career was cut short by a 80mph handstand coming out of Old Hall

No problem on the CDI Rick. Which reminds me, I should really go and get it back out of the mailbox and put it back on.

When I get the cafe on the road I might try a track day but I'm afraid that I dont bounce like I used to so I'll leave the racing to the younger "Nutters" just do my own thing LURCH
