Hi, The bike was built using a British made sound of singles racing frame from Dave Camier from Kent.
The frame was bought by an Aussie while in the UK in 1979 or so, and brought back to Aus to be made into a cafe racer.
The frame was a JCM frame. Later they became DCM frames, however they were still the same frames. There were very few JCM frames made as far as I can tell, as the J in the name unfortunately passed away shortly after the partnership started up.
Eventually Dave made DCM frames with a link type rear suspension on them, going away from the mono-shock. And other frames as well. He is still making stuff today as far as I can tell.
Daves son Leon is into racing modern superbikes etc. in the UK championship.
I am converting it back into what it was meant to be in the first place, a track bike. I have removed all of the road stuff and the wiring harness etc. and am in the process of sorting it out.
I'm sending the tank away shortly to have a few character marks removed from it and I am looking at fitting a different seat to it. Possibly a TZ item.
It has TZ front forks legs, triple clamps, and front guard with possibly RD sliders. It has a Lockheed? front caliper and an unusual front hub. Can anyone identify these for me?
The rear wheel is from a 650 Yam and is going to be replaced by a cable operated rear drum from a TD/TR/TZ. The de-carbon rear shock spring is too light for my weight and the track, and will be replaced with a heavier item.
It has a high comp piston and a larger Mikuni carb.
It'll be fun to play around on at the track, but isn't to be raced.
There was an article on the mono-shock bikes in the UK Superbike mag in Feb '81 and a later article on the link suspension bikes in Bike magazine in '82 (I think).
Anyone got any pictures of any others?

More work done on the JCM...the tank was taken apart, modified and repaired by aluminium wizard, Bernie Willett, in Melbourne.
Not a real good tank to start with, so Bernie may well be making me another one some day I feel.
I did some polishing to get it back to shiny again...took all day...would have been done by Bernie, but it would have taken another day and I had to get home.
The seat has been replaced by a TZ 'D' model one. I have had to widen it a bit at the front.
The resin took a long time to go off despite twice the normal amount of catalyst....nice Canberra weather (cold) to blame here. Set OK once I brought it inside, in front of the heater...
Roll on Spring!

In the last couple of weeks I have made the rearsets out of aluminium and an alloy guard for the exhaust. That pipe sure gets hot.
I have also fitted a TZ A model rear drum brake onto it. I had to make spacers to put the wheel in the centre and then make an adapter to space the rear sprocket into line with the countershaft one. I also made the brake backing plate covers for the drum as they were missing when I got it.
This weekend I make a rear brake cable and attach it to the bike. The brake shoes also need re-lining etc...so more work yet.
The seat is in for painting in classic TZ colours.....
