Hey all,
My battery is done. I trickle charged it all night. The charger
keeps shutting off because it doesn't want to overcharge it
now. It only holds 4-6.5 volts bike off and at idle. When I
rev it to 5k rpm it goes to 8.5-9.5 volts. I would be happy
with this since the engine can run the lights and all ok, but
without the full 12 volts I have no horn. I'm assuming if I got
a battery eliminator or built a capacitor I'd have no horn either?
The battery I have is a smaller sealed PowerSonic.
So can I have a horn without the battery somehow? Is there
a loud lower voltage horn option? Would it just be easier to
buy a new battery? Which batteries are cheapest and lightest,
and where is the best place to buy in the USA?
