well, i just got my head back from the machine shop. i've got it almost put back together and my manual hasn't even been shipped yet!
How should i set the timing? I see the timing hole on the cam sprocket and the degree marks under the left side cover, but i don't see any marks on the case or otherwise... My manual should be shipped and delivered in about 7 days, but I CAN"T WAIT!
I have searched the boards and don't see any specific info on this.
This is my first sr and I am overexcited! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. OR if I missed the thread on this a point in that direction would be great.
thanks will

The timing mark on the case is a little triangle that can easily be obscured by gasket material sometimes.

Yep Canuksr & Stew are spot on , the gasket obscures the timing mark very easily try peeling the gasket away or scrape a little off from the underside of casting about 12 O'Clock position LURCH
