;DHi guys if I have led blinkers fitted how do I get the blinker warning light in Tacho to flash as per normal  TC |

What is it doing? Do the blinkers work? Are they flashing? The light in the tach, is it on or is it completely out? I've heard that you need to install resistors when you go to LED. Have you tried that?

Hi TC , the warning lights for the blinkers wire across the positive of both blinkers so when the blinker in one side gets its positive signal one side of the warning light gets its positive signal the other side goes to ground through the lamp that is not on. When you use LED blinkers the current that flows through the warning lamp is usually enough to keep the LED blinker on the other side turned on, so in effect both LED blinkers turn on. There are a few ways to fix this.
1: Make up a LED warning lamp, ( you need two LEDs wired back to back with a resistor in series.)
2: You can put a resistor around each LED blinker about a 50 ohm 5 Watt resistor should do .
3: you can re-wire the warning lamp .You need to take the two wires that go to the warning lamp and put a diode in each lead with the band ends of the diodes joined together . The other end of each diode is on the wires that would have gone to the warning lamp. Now the band ends go to one of the warning lamp wires , the other warning lamp wire goes to ground ( frame - ) . Now when either LED blinker is on the warning lamp gets its power off the blinker and the current flows straight to ground ( not the off blinker).
4: Use normal blinker globes ;D

PS: these should work but I haven't done any except Ive made the LED warning lamps

Hi guys the warning light in tacho doesn't do any thing at all but the led blinlers flash as they should I am using a l ed blinker can ...TC

Hey tc, I would think then that the bulb in the warning lamp is burnt out or has a broken wire
