Both my SR500 and my suzuki400 have no horns. I traced the wires in the diagrams and they all seem fine. I used a volt meter and it seems to send voltage through the line when you press the button. The fuses are good too.
Can I safely test the horns themselves with a regular set of AAs or a 9 volt? What causes motorbike horns to die? Or am I missing something else?

hallo a lot of horns have a screw in the middle to adjust the membrane, if this fails your horn is probably dead

Yes I agree Sjef...play around with the adjustment on the horn. You can usually resurrect them to a point. SR

Thanks guys, yes, I've tried adjusting the diaphram and still no luck. I'll try the junkyards and see if I can test one with a 9 volt. Car horns would work right? At least they'd be louder, would they last longer?

Aftermarket 12 volt bike horns are around everywhere fairly cheap...$20 Aus...or so. SR
