When I got my bike, it was missing the headlight assembly (among other things) and all the wires that went to it are cut. So now i'm working on putting it all back together. For the ignition switch, do i really need the stock key operated switch, or can i just use any generic on/off switch (key or not)?

You probably could but you need a manual with electric diagrams & some electrical knowledge or plenty of trial & error time . I think I have a good keyswitch with key somewhere send me a PM if you need cheers Dave.

Well, I have a manual with wiring diagrams, and my brother is an electrician so I was thinking we could figure it out. Either way I'll have to do alot of rewiring since all the connectors are gone from my system.

Wow ! I've got a spare harness too . Why was the wiring cut ? Was it stolen or something ? Mabe the previous owner was going to part it & got half way through doing that . Anyway good luck with all that Dave .

Why was the wiring cut ? Was it stolen or something ? Well, actually the harness is still there and intact, its just that everything that goes in and out of the headlight has been cut. The guy was gonna make a flat tracker I think. I'm pretty sure I'll make due though, my brother is coming this week to help. He's way better at wiring than me.
