I wonder if you folks know the right resistance on the charge coil on a 2j4 from 2979. My Haynes manual says : Red to Brown = 334 ohm, Brown to Black = 329 ohm. I measured 5 ohm between red and brown, do i have a short ore is the manual wrong. I have a lazy yellow spark. ignition coil seems to be OK. What to suspect? CDI box (hope not)

Hallo Wolle
i am afraid the manual is not wrong. i guess the coil needs a rewind.

Thanks sjef Not a big problem. I have a buddy who rewinds generators, DC-motors etc. Anyone tryed rewind a stator ? Perhaps the wire is damaged on its way, from the CDI to the stator. Flywheel puller. 27 MM LH thread, do anyone know the pitch.

Hallo Wolle
checked the values both at a german and a dutch manual:red/brown should be 233-349 ohm found a diagram stating it should be 5 ohm will check it on a generator i have here
on a 78 generator red brown gives 5,1ohm, brown black 310 ohm, black red/white 15 ohm, black green/white 84 ohm
apparently you cannot always trust thes manuals regards sjef
