Has anyone ever tried one of those splitfire or stromberg multi spark devices? They go half way along your ignition lead and change the frequency of your plug so you get multiple sparks across the gap instead of one?
Always been curious as to there effect. For $50 AUD may be worth experimenting

I'm always sceptical of these fuel saving devices / money saving claims. But with high petrol prices, there'll be people who'll believe in them and willing to try anything. My thinking is that if they weren't fitted by the vehicle manufacturer, there can't be huge gains in using them. But, that's just my personal opinion! No doubt Naomi Robson and Mike Munro will have a story on them on TV shows Today Tonight and A Current Affair! Rgdz CL

Well, for $45 dollars, I thought I'd give it a go...... Haven' installed it yet but I'll let you all know.
Saw one at a car show once, demonstrated the fire over the gar and it was impressive.
We shall see how it tunes up

I have a Spark Exciter from Daytona, and it makes a world of difference. I could actually see the spark quite well after connecting the exciter. Now it's a no-choke, one-kick wonder.

I'm not fmailiar with that Daytona part? Is it like mine where it connects along the ignition lead? Sounds very similar. I'll have to get back around to putting mine on.
Was to have a big bike weekend but the 36 degree C ddin't make it much fun outside!!!!

Hey guys: Do you have a link to a seller of that multi-spark unit? I'm only finding one for an XR50 when I google it. Thanks. Gary Hopwheels

I looked up Stromberg on ebay. Think its called the Stromberg Fuel Saver.
If you look up fuel saver even in a search on ebay you should find it.
I'm not sure where to find the Daytona one

So Robomod... is this the same Daytona spark exciter unit you have? Are there varying types by bike model, CC, two or four stroke?

Cool robomod... I'm getting a 404 error going through your friend's shopping cart checkout process though and can't place the order... hmmmm. He's a couple 'o bucks cheaper than I've found so I'll try again later. Sounds like it'll take my puny, getting sand kicked in it's face by the bully on the beach spark and pump it up ;D.
UPDATE: Ordered... will post an update when it arrives. Thanks robomod!

That unit is a lot bigger than mine, wonder if there's any difference. I haven't had chance to test mine properly yet. Hopefully this weekend!!!!
Mine is about an inch long and and inch and a half in diameter.
O a side not, Sydney Motorcycle Show is on tis weekend. Mostly new gear etc but I'll be on the look out for anything interesting.

Well, I fitted my multispark on the weekend, and the difference was noteable. Now my bike has a cam that is unhappy at idle, and with the mulitspark I found the bike much happier at lower revs, but even better, much smoother through the rev range and more responsive from down low. Worth the $40 I reckon.
Not something that should take the place of proper tuning ie don't use it to hide other problems, but if your bikes pretty well sorted, its an extra 2% that makes things nicer.
I just need a longer ignition lead so I can tuck the module up under the tank somewhere.
