So, there I was out for a late night ride on my 1981 SR500. When I stopped, my headlight on low beam would fluctuate wildly from dimmish to quite brite at idle. On high, it was not so noticeable. Also, my turn signals would not go off all the way between each flash. They would go from bright to dimmer to bright. I am not an electrical guru. Does anyone have any ideas? I did replace my magneto at approx 30,000 miles I currently have abou 62,000 miles on the bike.

Hey Bent, Check your fuse. Mine started doing something like that. The neutral lite would pusate, turn signals would barely work. Headlight would pulsate also and the horn just plain sucked instead of blow (kidding). I didn't think the bike would run without a fuse, but it did. One of the end caps had broken off. May not be your problem but it's a quick check. You could also put a voltmeter across the battery to see if it's charging. Mine wasn't. That's how I discovered the broken fuse. Bronson7
