Hi, I have just finished re-wiring my Camier SOS racer. It has an XT500 engine that had been fitted with a 12volt SR alternator for the road. I looked at modifying the system to fire the plug only as I'm setting it up for the track, however it quickly became apparent that it would be better to source a 6 volt XT/TT maggie. I ended up with a TT magneto. Nice and simple. I just finished wiring it up and then I checked the spark...good spark, excellent! I have to remove the 'aftermarket' 12 volt coil and put a new 6 volt coil in that I had lying around as a spare for my Ducati 250. Normally I'd look around for a genuine TT item. But this one is new and goes straight into where the 12 volt coil was. To check the spark I used an old silicone lead from a car that I had hanging around. Has anyone made up a push in type copper cored lead to go into a aftermarket coil, with a car type plug lead fitting? I'd prefer to run a copper cored lead with a proper plug cap if possible. I hate cars. Still without them how would you tow your bike around? SR

Sorted the problem. I used some 'car' stuff with a steel wire core and a 'car' type push in connector. I screwed the bike cap onto the end and away it went.
You can't seem to get good solder fittings for the bullet connectors etc. anymore either. The influence of cars again.
I'll keep looking maybe someone has old stock.
