Anyone use the battery eliminator? Since I have a feeling that IO am going to have to retain the factory ignition system, I am thinking of getting rid of the battery to clean up the back of the bike. If you have the eliminator, how do you like it?

G'day sjef,
Care to explain how it is done? As an aside does the specification for the do-dat change if it is to be used on say a 6v system.
Thanks for your input,
Brian

Hallo Brian, The capacitor of 10.000microfarad is only needed with cdi. If you have an early xt500 you can do without(pointsignition)just connect it as if it is your battery.

I've been looking at that batPac myself. One disadvantage I can see is if you loose your charging system it's a no go. With a battery, you can At least go a few miles on what's left. Being a fat boy, I do like the weight advantage. Bronson7
