Hi Had the same problem, see a previous post fuel tap not turning off, Basicly there is a one way valve in the back cover in the vaccume side , the valve lets the air out quickly turning the tap on quickly and only lets the air back in slowly, mine was too good at blocking the air off so once it was it stayed on. The valve is swaged into the back cover I half took the valve out and it started to work so left it that way , been ok now for about 6 months Hope this helps Mark

Mine leaks too - a bad combination in this summer heat (Australia): they ripped up our good ashphalt on the footpath and replaced it with cheap stuff. In the heat the side-stand wants to sink into the footpath at the best of times, but now its destruction seems greatly aided by the pool of petrol that drips onto it! I inspected my tap last week when the bike wouldn't start - it's good, thanks Mark for your suggestion, I had given up on finding a cause for the leaking.

Sometimes its the only rubber left out of the "tap rebuild kit" that which surrounds the bit you turn with your hand, [ O ring type seal] regards Carl
