Hey guys, I snapped my cable the other day and put the pusher in the puller's place to get back home... Suddenly my throttle response and return feels about 30 years newer! I love it! I'm worried about running only one cable, does anyone have any input? Wotavidone, I read something that makes me think you're running this set up, any problems besides the hot start not resetting?
My bike seems to idle as per usual, I'm primarily worried about wearing out my only remaining cable. will running just a puller wear the cable out within the month?
Thanks, Davey

I've only had a single throttle cable for twenty years on my 79.

Pretty common sight to see a single cable on a double pull carb.I have always done it on my dirt bikes with no probs.

The only problem with running a single cable is that you can't reset the hotstart button by twisting the throttle shut. If you start the bike with the hotstart button, you find yourself scrabbling around rather urgently to push the thing back down at the carby. Otherwise, I've been cruising around with only a single cable with no probs at all. In fact, there is probably less drag on the whole system with a single cable, so wear should not be an issue, may even improve things. Mick
