well, my bikes been losing fuel from the bowl overflow for a couple of weeks. I'm convinced that the needle is not seating properly and i guess i should try and strip the carb down myself and service it. Only trouble is i'm not flushed with confidence, ( visions of tiny springs flying off .) Any tips?

You don't have to dissassemble too much to get at the needle and seat. After removing the float bowl, GENTLY tap out the float pin and remove the float. Careful not to break the arms that the pin goes through. Then you can remove the needle and inspect it. It should have a black rubber tip that is perfectly pointed with no wear on it.

Thanks for the advice, my bike is a real bitsa ( frame 2j2, motor Ie6, carb 2j4 ) The carb, being a 2j4, i was wondering, would it be a vm32 or a vm34? Cheers.
