Well, I've got no idea of the theory at all, but someone who has ridden one said that it feels like it increases Power dramatically. On the downside, they seem to have problems from time to time, and they burn more fuel...

Andy,
One of the advantage of a flat slide carbie over a round slide is that they offer less disruption / restriction to air flow through the carbie, so tend to give better performance. The greater performance normally come at the cost of greater fuel consumption as sugested by Marlon, above.

A flat slide carb makes a good door stop. They are a pain in the arse on road bikes, very tempremental to set up and are much more sensitive to minor changes then a round slide.
Depends on the state of tune you want, but on a road bike I'd say they are a waste of time

I have purchased many items from Bike Bandit. No complaints with their parts. My only problems are that you must decide whether you are buying OEM or aftermarket before you get to see what's available. They will also spam you about once a week, but I kinda like to look at it.
