;D Hey guys, check this out! Before yesterday I was running ridiculously rich, needing to clear out the spark plug with a solvent every 3 times I rode the bike, or it wouldn't start. I needed to pull the carb and the petcock for leaks, so while I had the carb apart I replaced the main jet with the one they send you in a Keyster Carb kit (a 300, i think, it definitely was smaller diameter than whatver was in there), and moved the needle to the top clip, so it is as restrictive as possible. I also replaced the stock air box with a K & N, and temporarily covered the vent/intake on the engine with a strip of t-shirt clamped over the stock manifold . The bike idled fine cold, I adjusted the idle speed but not the mix screw, and off I went! It made a helluva lotta noise, the t-shirt filter puffing back and forth with every stroke, the bike roaring and backfiring and going FASTER THAN HELL! about 100 meters down the road: dead as a doornail, revs just dying. I got it started a couple times but it's definitely sad, I limped it back to the garage and noticed a misty white smoke coming out of the K&N filter. I'll keep tinkering with it, it's either too rich, too lean, or mad as hell with me tell me what ya think, a prize to whomever can guess the right ailment! This bike f**k**g rocks!
