Hi All The carby on my SR has just started flooding , it's just pouring out, striped it down today ,the level was ok, the float needle has a light ring mark but looks ok, the spring in the needle looks very weak , seems like something is sticking but can't see anything, it's always been hard to start when hot. any help would be great Barry

Hi, It may have just had a bit of dirt between the seat and the needle...if there's a ring around the needle might be best to look at replacement sooner or later in any case. Is it still leaking when it's back in one piece? SR

Barry,
I would check inside your fuel tank to see if there is any signs of rust.
I had similar problems with my Stock SR flooding, and eventually worked out it was small particles of rust holding the carbie needle and seat open. To fix the problem short term, I fitted a univeral car fuel filter into the fuel line, its big and bulky but very effective as I havn't had problems with fuel leaking from the carbie for the last 2 years (so much for short term). Eventually I will treat the inside of the tank with a sealant like KREEM to get rid of the rust and prevent it reoccuring.
