Anyone out there using a Dellorto 40mm? I fitted one to my race bike and it runs great at the top end but is rather unstable at 3500-4500rpm when coasting on a closed or partially open throttle. I was racing at Oran Park last weekend when I should have been tucked up at home in bed, it was weather for ducks and fish. The rain and slippery conditions forced me to run at low rpm and in the dry it's not a problem.
I'm using a K2 needle and leaning it off made it better, but still not right. It goes pap pap pap, like firecrackers going off. I tried a K6 needle and it ran fine down low but lost all power everywhere else. The Dellorto needle specifications are a bit of a mystery to me, so if anyone has experience of tuning Dellortos, I'd certainly like any opinions on what needle to try.
