i am cleaning up my new SR and the float bowl is over flowing while the motor is running. (out the overflow tube) i guess it is time for a good carb cleaning... what part is causing this?

Usually that's a stuck float (float, float pin) or crud in the valve (needle valve, needle valve seat, possibly an O-ring involved).

Hi,
Tap on the float bowl and see if it stops...possibly just a sticking float as has been suggested.
