Gang, I'm doing the carb work on my '81 SR. How in the world do you remove the float pivot pin. It looks like one end has been peened over. Any ideas? If I file off the peen, how will I get the pin to stay where it belongs? I'll await your responses before I contnue. Thanks. Bronson7

Forget it, Folks. I got it out and in with a little friendly persuasion, a pin punch and a small hammer. Bronson7

Glad you sorted it out Bronson. I use what I call a push punch. It is a spring loaded punch that when you apply pressure on it the sharp end retracts in until it comes out with a bit of a pop. Works everytime on this particular application. I get mine off of the Snap On truck, but you could probably get them at any auto tools supply outlet.

Hey GMan, sounds like a nice tool for this app. I generally don't panic, but when you have a 24 year old bike with limited parts availability you really don't want to be screwing up parts. Thnaks, GMan
