Did anyone see the Jemco exhaust pipe on Ebay the other day? It's a cool lookin race pipe, that are supposedly "rare," but I dug up Jemco's site online today. They don't have an SR pipe listed, but I called em up and Jon at the shop said they could still make one. He sent me a pic, and I like. I'll ask him if he doesn't mind if I post a pic of it.
Oh- and it's $180 + $20 for shipping. Ding, ding, ding- Sold!
I should have mine in about 2 weeks! 105db city- here I come. BLAP BLAP BLAP!!!!

Top looking bike and pipe. Does anyone here race their SR on the flat track? Something I've always wanted to try, but not so easy in Aus....

Hi milkman, lots of xt and tt 500s racing in classic dirttrack in southern n.s.w. at the moment.Mine runs an sr motor, but its the only one that i know of. A bit different to set up than a road bike, but nearly more fun than a naughty when you get it sorted. cheers franky b

Cheers Franky, love to give it a go. I should have been more specific - i'm working in Sydney Town currently, which means me and my bikes don't get to cut loose quite like we used to. Though the availability of bike stores is a plus
I'd be interested in any info or sites you could direct me too for racing, setup etc
Whack a picture of your beast up when you get a chance

Hi milkman, the dirttrack scene is alive and well in the riverina area, but just about dead around the sydney newcastle area. Australian dirttrack as opposed to u.s.a. mean there must be a minimum of one right hand turn, so tracks usually wind up being sort of kidney shaped. On the other hand we also run as support classes at longtrack meetings, which is basically speedway on a track about 800 metres long, with all left turns. Motorcycling Australias website should have info on venues close to you. Look at ama flattrack.com and www.flattrack.com both good u.s.a. sites. Most of the guys i run with stay basically stock and run trials type tyres on their xt and tt500s, but some of the guys running modern mx bikes in their classes run lowered suspension and roadrace full wets. Cut slicks work okay on oiled clay tracks, but there arent many surfaces like that around now, most tracks now are watered crushed granite.(interesting point, because of the drought water restrictions, we cant run in albury- theyre on council water supply and not allowed to water the track.) Its basically the end of the season now, so the bike is down for a going over, but will send pics when its together again. Cheers, franky b

I had Jemco put together a complete exhaust system for my '08 sr500. It ran me $220 with shipping. It comes bare so you can do what ever kind of finish you would like.
He made me a custom system similar to the one on the TT above. Unlike most SR pipes it runs stright under and then turns up. He made a support bracket that runs up to therack mounts underneith the frame.
I'm having te bracket welded right now so I don't have any pictures. I had it temp. mounted for a while and this set up gives you the hp and the growl to set off car alarms. It is also quiet enough that that I haven't goten a ticket for noise. Wheelies on the other hand...

I received my pipe earlier in the week. I'll get some pics up soon.
By the looks of my pipe it appears to sit like the stock pipe. I need to call them to see what's up. If I'm going to run a stock looking pipe, I might as well run the stock pipe. Also, I have longer shocks in the rear, so I'm back at my old clearance issue, basically why I cut my pipe in half in the first place.

It took me the longest time to figure out how the system they sent me sits. I had to pull the center stand beccause It wraps straight under.
Did your come with the unwelded support as well? I'm wondering if we have the same system or if they just did this one special for me. Either way I just got a new camera and will have a whole album of pics up soon!

Thats the sytem I have. The header sits like the pipe above, but the can mounts where the stock can does. I'll take a pic of my bike soon. They mentioned that they could leave the tabs off, but I said to just stick them on. It's need a baffle though. I thought the stock pipe cut in half was loud, but the Jemco is a little more focsed due to the reversed cone.
Check my video in mt photo section. Theres' a quick shot of it parked.

My can is similar, but he made mine a little different. I'm in central Washington and don't have to worry about noise so it is less restricted and actually turns up more. It doesn't hook on to the stock mount, it has a special bracer arm that goes up to the back of the seat.
I'll take a picture tonight and post it.
I haven't had the piece welded yet because I'm not quite ready to put the exhaust back on...

So here are a few pictures of the set up during the bracket fitting process. www.flickr.com/photos/cameronsr500What do you do when don't have a friend to hold up the exhaust while you fit the bracket? Pull out the tape...
