Ok, then the question: Why would valve stem seals leak only 4 times over a summer, coincidentally at the 4 times the tank oil level was low (indicating oil in the sump)?
It would seem to me that the stem seals should leak pretty much at a constant rate, except possibly if you left the bike on the compression stroke with a little pressure in the cylinder? What is the leakage mode here that can happen so seldom? Generally I ride it every 2-3 days.
