Went riding today after putting the new throttle cable back on, i looked down at my left boot and noticed it's getting more hammered than usual with oil. The head gasket's definately going in a big way..... and the bikes stalling too (gasket probably). I need a top end from somewhere in australia. I don't care if it's gold plated or covered in camel chuck, i just want something that i can put on with some new gaskets that works so i don't have to walk to work and back (it's starting to tip 40 degrees C in adelaide at the moment). Please send me your contacts, names, numbers, i'll even look into paying postage from uganda if the exchange rate is right. Email, PM, or send via carrier pigeon. <--------------(contacts are here)

Hi, Call Carl - (02) 6337 7599....see what he can do? He definitely has the better gaskets, rockers, valves etc. as I have been telling you about...I got mine from him...and he may also be able to sort out a head for you if you really need one. You will probably nneed to put a message on his phone, but you may be lucky first off. Try now... SR

Cheers stew. Talking to a guy a work. His dad knows a guy that knows a guy and they've already turned up a tank for me to modify so here's hoping the top end comes next.

I've finally found what i was after. A local wrecker has a complete engine, 2J2 prefix (same as mine). It was (apparently) a runner but is really an unknown quantity. The cam and rockers seem fair. Minus alternator only. They want $400. Sound reasonable? The good news is i can get the top end off it, polish the side covers and keep the rest for spares.
I may start a new thread of my long term progress, just to keep me motivated.
IT BEGINS.
