As far as i know these kits are not for sale anymore. pami germany and Daishin japan used to manufacture them. the main parts are from a yamaha tz350 with dryclutch. the clutch cover is cutommade. i`ve got mine through a japanese yahoo-auktion with the very respected help of akira.

How much money can be put into an SR engine? I am rebuilding the green "Stinky" SR that is now in Australia, [the one with the Smith Kanrin wheels] and will keep it [besides the carrillo] quite cheap, [re bore only,no stroker crank,no twin plug raised port head, etc, etc] it will go from 19hp at the rear, [Dyno run done already] to 34 or so at the rear, another 4hp would cost 4,000 so, the simple approach gives the best value.

I think I've been for a ride with the bloke that owns that bike. Keen cyclist, new rider, but around 30 or so. Does he still have it? I'm really surprised it's only putting out 19hp! That's a bit depressing.

The guy who owns the bike owns Deus ex machina................................................Oh, my dyno is stingy on power figures, a CR500 two stroke makes 38hp on it, a WR450 stock 33hp, a stock SR400 with a pipe 17.5hp, can quote more bikes anytime if it helps. And guy,s I am a hipocrite as I am about to bolt together my 587cc titanium valve, studded through etc, etc, so I can't talk about big dollar SR motors, its just that when I build one for a customer they usually thank me for talking them into the "bang for your buck" motor, I'm just a bit jealous Sjef, regards as always, Carl.

there is a difference between emotion and ratio best regards sjef[/quote] Your right about that sjef. I won an auction this morning on Yahoo-Japan for a dry-clutch kit. Spending that much money was Very emotional! But, this will suit my project perfectly. dave

HalloDave congrats with the kit. New one? japanese manual? best regards sjef Hi Sjef, Yes, new from Daishin Racing. I haven't recieved it yet but, I assume the manual will be in Japanese. My brother can read some Japanese, having lived there for a time. I'll get his help with the install. Did you get yours translated? It looks like it should be a pretty straight foward swap. Any difficulties I should know about? Thanks, dave
