Speed2xs, Before I decided to keep the cast wheels on my '79, I had the idea to use the front and rear spoked wheels from a late '70's Suzuki GS750. They are not a direct swap but if you want to tinker could be made to work (and the Suzuki rear has a built in cush drive...). If you are interested in the parts I have accumulated, ping me off list. Thanks for the info. I may be interested in the parts sometime in the not-to-distant future

Here are a couple of pics of the 'top-hat bush' to sleeve the inner race down...in case my previous drawing wasn't sufficient...this one is 20mm axle down to 17mm...co-incidentally... Found this one the other day...must have made it years ago... SR

Hey Stew, Yamaha actually makes this part also. When I was converting an XS400 wheel and an RD400 wheel for an XS650 project .I found that very part in the drive side wheel bearings.I looked up the price and they are kind of expensive, about $12 USD each. If someone did not have access to a machine shop they could purchase them.

I have been considering however an xs400 front wheel and sticking with mags. Seems like a decent option as well. We'll see.
