Dave, I ain't no Crow eater, I was born and bred in Broken Hill, NSW, even if most east coast NSW people think Dubbo is as far west as NSW goes, BH is still in NSW!
On the topic of thing being made etc by companies, the big one while I work on the mines in the 70's was the making of 6x4 trailers. The story alway was that during the week, the apprentices in the plate shop would bend up enough plate and cut the steel to fabricate one 6x4 trailer. The friday afternoon shift boilermaker would then assemble/weld the trailer. On saturday morning it was pushed down to the paint shop, where it was painted, the pushed to the electrical workshop where it was wired on Sunday, after which it was left parked in the car park. The recipiant of the trailer, who had to supply the wheels, springs, axle and coupling, would then hook up the trailer and take it home on Monday afternoon.,

my sister in law had her Pontiac over heat and decided to top off what she thought was the radiator. She removed the oil filler on the valve cover and filled the engine with water. It toasted the motor.

About 12 years ago, I borrowed a large car so that I could pick up a canoe. In checking the car out I noted that it was low on oil. I added in my only free quart and it was still low. So I went over to my trusty SR and drained the oil from it. Somehow I forgot to refill the tank before I rode it the next time.
