I bought a similar bar from ThumperStuff....his "Euro". Was toying with the idea of installing it upside down...will give it a look and trial fit before I clamp it down. HD makes a heavier fork oil...their "Screamin' Eagle" variety. I use it in my tour bike....and you can feel the difference. I figure if it is up to a 850 lb. beast like my RoadGlide, it's bound to work in the SR.
Thanks for the reply.

thnks for the tip sooner i think i am going to go with 15w oil since it is a little thicker than stock and i am not racing this bike i hope it will calm the front end down a bit i am looking for a nice ride out of it i have a cbr1000 that is a real carver i just use this as a commuter and think that will be enough i hope i wish i could get a usd fork that would fit but that dont seem to be an easy option from what ive seen on the boards

Used forks are a might spooky. Are your tubes pitted? "Forking by Frank" has an excellent reputation for high quality products at reasonable prices....much lower than Yamaha OEM. Do a search on the web and you'll find his info...you'll need to call. When I drained my forks, the oil was mighty thin....God knows how long it had been in there. Had the lowers and engine side covers polished while all disassembled. I see a lot of guys go to a Progressive fork spring when rebuilding......

::)UpSide Down....I just thought you typo'd "used". Funny how we can misinterpret. Yes, I know what inverted forks are......take a look at Storz Performance Products.

well i got the forks rebuilt 2 days ago and put 15w oil in them they are alot stiffer than stock but then again he said their was not much oil left in the forks at all--i decided to leave the mirrors on the bike because people like redgalvin hate em and i like them sorry dude!!!! i found out what was wrong with my jetting it wqasnt jetting at all it was the valves out of adjustment they were never checked after leaving the factory so basically i did the first service on the whole bike 30 years later hahaha the last tank of gas yeilded me 60mpg at 68 mph i love it why would i change it up 17$ for insurance a month and 36$ a yr for registration there is one bike i saw on the boards that i really like from somebody in so cal with nothing on it literally i will have a look again and see who it was D
