Jeep came from "GP" (General Purpose), right? Maybe it also meant Giant Poodle!

Too funny on the Jeep commentary. I just bought another 1946 CJ2A to work on and previously owned an 1989 wrangler and a 1977 CJ5. I really thougth the jeep died when they added airbags and coil springs.
As for the midlife crisis... stick to a chance. You have the time and ability to do something you have always wanted to do. Go play and have fun.
Now for the advice... we all get older and will never be as good as we once were. I am still playing Hurling (had to give up Footy when I got married) with a club that regularly lines me up against younger-fitter kids 1/2 my age. Yeah... It taked a few days longer to recover, but I wouldn't qiut as long as I am recovering after wards. I do play a little smarter in my old age, but it is the playing that makes me feel younger and stay fitter.
ENJOY your time.
Second bit of advice... Don't sneak things into the shed. Use a distraction adn bring them in announced. I have found shoes and purses work quite nicely. It it is something I really wnat... my wife will let me have/do it as long as I am up front about it (and negotiate the right buy off).

Noooo, sneaking stuff into the shed is half the fun of it. Almost as much fun a catching the wife sneaking in another couple of pair of shoe (she suffers from Imelda Syndrome, like most women). It is basically a game too see who can catch who out.

LOL... as long as you two have your balence. I read your commentary on the race... Sounds like fun. I am currently looking for a bike here for the wife and keep leaning towards a Honda CL350 (I had one a while back) for a lot of the reasons that I could ride it in things like that...
I have always been pretty inpressed with trails riders, but like the cross country a little more!
