Maaate...........that is beautiful. When I was a kid I used to fantasise about making a 500 traily into a road bike. I'm on the track of a TT500 in pieces. If I get it, it's gonna end up looking like that. There is nothing I'd do different from what you've done. Its perfect, well done. Mick

Thanks guys!!!! Can't wait to ride it.
Easiest way to do a project like this is buy 2 parts bikes so you have all the nick knacks that end up needed along the way. I hunt and scrounge for parts bikes and pick them up for reasonable prices. Lots of old Yamahas lie in wait stuffed in sheds and barns.
For instance, just picked up a SR500 with a bent frame and forks. Bike has clip ons, mikuni 38mm carb, supertrapp exhaust, good running motor, rear sets, excellent rubber, and disks on both ends. All for less than a set of clip ons and pair of tires. Everything works but its best used as a parts bike for a cafe project thats been on the back burner for a while.

That's always a good way to do it , don't muck around buy the whole thing ! A total piece of crap can be a parts goldmine for the next project!(thats how the addiction starts) & thats how you end up with more SR/XT500s than shed space. Its all good coz sheds can always be extended! Cheers Dave.
