Yep, it's a looker, I rode it 600 miles and now no spark. Very annoying for my Summer is slipping away without it.

I cured the spark problem by buying a parts bike. The red one in the background, it came with a "blown" engine and a "new" engine. The "new" engine is in it, it's an XT/TT engine. The stator from the "blown" engine made my first SR run like new. It also came with an aftermarket pipe that sounds great and makes more power. I also upgraded the top end oil line to the exhaust side rocker arm assembly.

I was told that the bars are from a Honda 400. They may well be, because I had a set of SuperHawk bars on my 1100 Special (so many years ago) and they were about the same. Thanks Stew for the kjnd comment on my photos. Here's one not so pretty: Proud owner of a classic SR500

Heh, heh...stylish hat mate. I wear a Davida pudding basin helmet when I ride my little 250 Ducati...goggles and all. Good fun. SR

The hat and goggles are part of my period gear, rarely worn when actually riding. My more used hat is a full face Bell with a wild paint job reminiscent of a Union Jack. (Homage to the Manx and Gold Star)
I live in prime deer habitat and my wife and I have both hit them with our other vehicles, in her case doing $2k in damage. The retelling of a deer strike in this forum has renewed my concern, and I'd sure want to be wearing the Bell and not the leather cap if that were to happen.

Ah yes it would not be good to hit a deer. I have experience of hitting a wallaby on the road here in Aus on one of my SRs...smaller animal, solid and no fun at all. Lots of damage to the SR and I got a bit dented as well. Luckily I was wearing full leathers, full face really good gloves etc. I totally agree with the full face, as I have several here with significant scrape marks from the road on the side of the chin guard and the cheek area etc. Makes a nice (and expensive) collection on top of my cabinet here beside me... my pudding basin is purely for classic bike rides only! I've owned a few Bell helmets over the years. Mostly full face MX helmets from when I used to race. Now I wear a Shoei. SR

Great gallery of pics there ! I wish my parts bike has as many parts on it as yours does ? I'm just down to frame ,front forks & tanks & other useless stuff that is no good unless you've got a want for it . Engine & bits would be real handy cheers Dave.

You can send me that seat and tank milkman, then you won't be tempted... Now I've added dual disks for that bad ass look:
