Hi guys, well the above reasons make more sense to me than the usual dont knows i get when i ask anyone else, so thanks for the replies. Small coil rewinds did my stator as well, but mine was stripped of all the windings except for the ignition source coils and the trigger coil. They did a great job, and id reccomend them to anyone. Hallo there are 3 types of ignitions for the sr depending on year of make and type
within the same type of ignition you can interchange the the flywheels with the stators and the cdi
the difference lies in the fact that the pickup coil is on different location on the stator and therefor is the magnet also on a differnt location on the matching flywheel.if you have a flywheel with the same layout there is no problem with swapping

They're actually not that big a deal to rewind as its generally just the large pickup coil that goes open circuit . Its very fine wire and about 4000 turns , if anybody wants any more info I'll give it out freely cheers from Dave.
